David F. Fisher retired in October 2018 from the full-time faculty of Minnesota Law where he served as Executive Director of the Corporate Institute, professor of law, and teaching specialist. He currently teaches courses at Minnesota Law in business strategy and ethics, contracts, and contract drafting. 

Fisher is a member of the Board of Directors of MnSURE, Minnesota’s health plan exchange; Vice Chair of the City of Minneapolis Audit Committee; and Chair of the public policy research nonprofit Growth & Justice. He is principal at Fisher Advisory Services L.C.C. specializing in business law, board governance, and fiduciary duty. Previously, he was of counsel with Larkin Hoffman Daly & Lindgren, specializing in corporate and board governance and business organization; he also serves clients as general counsel. He has held positions as general counsel, vice president for international, or business general manager with The Pillsbury Company, ADC Telecommunications, Inc., and G&K Services, Inc., and is founder and former CEO of Internet Destination Sales System, Inc. Fisher has served as a member and vice chair of the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities Area and as Minnesota Commissioner of Administration.
