A conviction related to a controlled substance offense as defined in the INA can trigger removal proceedings and bar relief from removal. This CLE will discuss the framework for determining when a state conviction is related to a controlled substance offense as defined in the INA and offer suggestions on using the framework to challenge grounds of removal.
